Do you need assistance with rent, utility bills or other housing-related costs?

The Emergency Rental Assistance Program AVAILABLE NOW!

Eligibility:

  • A household that experienced a COVID-19 pandemic related job or income loss or related expense
  • Demonstrate a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability
  • Have a household income that is 80% or less the Area Median Income (AMI) according to your family/household size.

How much rent assistance can a household get?
Eligible households may receive up to 12 months of assistance.

How to start the process?

We provide affordable housing to eligible single persons, couples and families within the City of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

The Lancaster City Housing Authority (LCHA) owns and operates 564 Public Housing units consisting of 259 family units and 305 elderly/disabled units set in six communities.

Housing is also provided through the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. The LCHA administers 1,003 Vouchers by matching up eligible applicants with participating private landlords.
