The mission of the Lancaster City Housing Authority is to provide safe and sanitary housing for low to moderate income individuals and families.
We strive to foster the development, ownership and successful management of housing programs while maintaining high standards and recognizing the residents as our ultimate customer. Our goal is to be an active partner in the community, working alongside landlords and city government to empower citizens towards self-sufficiency.
It is my privilege to serve as Executive Director of the Lancaster City Housing Authority (LCHA). I encourage you to take some time and browse our website. I find that very few people truly understand what a housing authority is. This is your chance to learn! Our primary mission is, of course, to provide affordable housing to eligible families and individuals.
But we do so much more. And all that we do accomplish would not be possible without the skill and dedication of our professional staff here at the LCHA. They ensure that year after year nearly 1,500 families in Lancaster City receive decent, affordable housing and a host of high quality self-sufficiency programming.
I'm confident you'll discover that a housing authority is much more than you have ever imagined. Most of all, I hope you learn that our Public Housing residents and Section 8 clients are hard-working, law-abiding Lancastrians. They are deserving of the assistance they receive; and many are striving to improve their lives by working toward higher education levels, new or better jobs, and buying their own homes.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you'd like to learn more about the LCHA.
